Updated: Jan 31

In January 1919, Royal Marines were

Actively involved in the Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War, fighting against Bolshevik forces in North Russia and supporting White Russian, anti-communist, efforts.

Marines operated in brutal conditions, including navigating the freezing Arkhangelsk front and fighting along the Kama River, Units faced extreme hardships, including severe cold, disease, and challenging logistical conditions.

Marines were part of a "White Russian Flotilla," fighting on the Kama River and in North Russia against Bolshevik forces, the 6th Royal Marine Light Infantry Battalion was actively involved in fighting in East Karelia.

The intervention was characterised by intense, small-scale combat, with Marines often fighting in isolated, treacherous terrain.

While early 1919 saw continued fighting, by March 1919, the British government began discussing the withdrawal of forces from the Murmansk-Archangel area.

Last winter, I worked a rotation in the Murmansk region, where temperatures dropped to -35°C and darkness lasted 20 hours a day. After returning home, my body felt completely drained: chronic fatigue, low energy, and no motivation despite being young. Instead of ignoring it, I started looking into recovery approaches and found https://redmondpharm.com/ , which offers supportive wellness solutions for post-stress balance. After a few weeks, I gradually regained energy and felt like myself again. Now I train again and feel normal.
