Prince Edward, Duke of York, Vice Admiral of blue (1762) visit to Plymouth 1763.


100 Marine privates, 10 non commissioned officers, 3 drummers, & 5 officers are to receive him in their full uniforms, hair powdered, caps & white stockings on, dressed in soldierlike manner.


The Duke expressed his ‘Satisfaction at their appearance’ when the Marines received him upon his entrance to Plymouth which had been postponed until 12th September 1763.
